Cookie Policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version. This website sets no cookies, has no analytics and shows no ads, which is why you do not see a cookie banner. The only thing that could set a cookie is the optional itch.io widget on the home page. It stays off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off here.
Your settings
What is stored on your device
| Name | Set by | Type and duration | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
hiili-consent-itch | This site | Browser local storage, until you clear it or turn the widget off. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. | Remembers that you turned the widget on. | Not needed: it only records the choice you made, and is only stored after you make it. |
itchio_token | itch.io | Third-party cookie on .itch.io, deleted when you close the
browser. | Set by itch.io when its widget loads. itch.io decides its purpose. | Yes. Only set if you turn the widget on. |
We checked this on 3 November 2026. itch.io controls its own widget and may change what it stores, and it may set more cookies if you are logged in to itch.io. See itch.io's privacy policy.
What the widget does when it is on
Your browser connects to itch.io, static.itch.io and img.itch.zone to show the widget. Those
services receive your IP address and browser details, and may be located outside your country, including in the United States.
What happens without it
Everything else works. The download buttons are ordinary links to itch.io, and nothing from itch.io loads until you follow one. Once you are on itch.io, its own cookie rules apply.
Our fonts, images and videos are all served from this website, so no other provider receives your data when you visit. Our web server's logs are covered in the Privacy Policy.
Removing cookies
Turning the widget off stops it loading and removes our note of your choice. We cannot delete a cookie set by itch.io, but that cookie goes when you close your browser, and you can delete cookies at any time in your browser's settings.
The game
The Hiili game is not a web page and does not use cookies. The files it stores on your computer are listed in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
If we ever add anything that needs your consent, it will stay off until you agree, and we will update this page first.
